Oldham & Royton Harriers present
Oldham & Royton Harriers are a friendly, family Club who's aim is to help athletes reach their full potential in athletics, while at the same time having fun! The Club meets on Monday and Thursday evenings from 6.45 to 8.15 pm at the Hunt Lane Track. A copy of the Club's constitution can be found by clicking here.
Oldham & Royton Harriers are celebrating the receipt of a grant of �4,681 from the National Lottery's Awards for All Programme. The grant will be used to purchase new equipment, such as foam turbo javelins, shot putts, discuses, mini-hurdles and Sportshall athletics equipment. In addition, the Club will be hosting in-house Coach Education programmes over the next 12 months.
Club Chairman, Peter Mawson said: "This is excellent news for Oldham & Royton Harriers, we put a lot of work into getting the application right and now the real work will start putting the new equipment to good use helping local young athletes enjoy their athletics."
Benefits of Joining
By joining the Club you can improve your general fitness by conscientous training and enthusiastic participation in Club events. The coaches will help you improve your athletic technique, giving you the opportunity to reach your full potential.
Coaching
The Club has a voluntary staff of both male and female coaches qualified to coach through the UK Athletics Coach Education Scheme. These coaches are responsible for groups of athletes ranging from our induction group of 7-11 year olds to senior athletes.
Competition
The Club's athletes compete as individuals and as teams in Track & Field, Cross Country and Road Running
Costs
Our Club membership fees are due annually on the 1st April. Under 17s pay just �45 per year as do students in full time education and the unemployed. Seniors pay �80 and family membership costs �120.
The fees are payable as either a one off payment or by 4 monthly payments. Club membership gives you acces to coaching from UK Athletics qualified coaches, free use of all the track facilities on training nights and the supervised use of the Club house in Hillside Avenue, Royton.
